Thanksgiving

Mark got called on a job the week of Thanksgiving so he wasn't able to come to Utah with Scotlyn and I. Scotlyn and I drove up with Caleb to my Parents house. We had a great time. Scotlyn is always spoiled and has everyone wrapped around her finger. My dad was one of them. Thanksgiving Day we had my dads parents, his sister and his brother and their family. We had tons of great food and enjoyed everyones company. We played fox tail and Crista got it stuck in the tree. The trip was great, we just missed Mark.

Marks Birthday!

Mark turned 32 on November 22. Poor guy didn't get much of a Birthday. He had training that day and then that night I had to run off to rehearsal. We did manage to have dinner and cake in between are crazy schedule. Marks not a fan of pictures so I only got one.

Mark is such a great dad and husband and we are so blessed to have him in our lives.

Mt Charleston

We finally went to Mt. Charleston, we have been talking about it for a long time. We did some dutch oven cooking, so yummy. I love being in the mountains and eating good grub. Scotlyn loved it, she loves being outside and of course she had to walk the whole time. I think Scotlyn looks so cute in her hoodie and jeans.

Mark and Scotlyn

I am going to brag about my amazing husband and sweet little girl. Don't tell Mark he hates it when I talk about him. Yesterday Mark and I had an appointment close to where I had a doctor appointment, so we all went together. After our 1st appointment we went to lunch an then to the park before my appointment. The park was did not start out very successful. Scotlyn was trying to climb up the slide and she slipped and cut her lip. I have never seen so much blood come form a lip. After we cleaned her up she was ready to go again. Not even a minute later she fell again and hit her lip again, but that didn't phase her she wanted to keep on playing. While we were at the park Jehovah witness missionaries came over and started talking to us. I was so glad that Mark was there because I am not a scriptorian who can sit there and name of scriptures. Mark was awesome they would tell him a scripture and ask him a question and Mark would come back with a better scripture and ask them questions. It was a good disscussion and at the end Mark says " I have read the Bible and have prayed about it like you have, and I have also read the book of Mormon and prayed about it, have you ?' I was cracking up because they came over expecting to challenge us to read and pray about the Bible and Mark ends up challenging them to read and pray about the BOM. Mark is such an amazing husbund and Father. He is strong in the church and he has been so supportive with me finishing school. The house is always picked up and the dishes done when I get home, he has been great!

Now a little bragging about Scotlyn. She is a clumsy kid, but she is so smart and Mark and I love watching her learn and grow. She does sign language for milk, sleep, eat, more, baby and kind of does mommy and daddy. I love it when she does milk insted of chucking the bottle at me or screaming till I figure out what she wants. She is miss little independant now that she is walking. She had to walk around Costco instead of riding inthe cart and she wouldn't hold my hand. It is so funny to see her walking around because she is so little. She love's to wear her soft sole shoes and no clothes, she is a crack up. We love our little Scotty.

This is her fat lip.

The Latest

This is attempt number 2 to write this blog. My last one Scotlyn managed to delete. Mom this is why it has been so long. She is our Dennis the Menace. She can destroy a clean house in less than a minute. She pulls out every bow I put in her hair. She will do something she is not supposed to and look at you and smile, then take off running when you go to stop her. The whole time I was writing the first post she was biting me and laughing. For some reason she thinks it is funny to bite mom and only mom no matter what I do. She is now in her crib crying. She is a feisty little girl. She has so much personality for such a tiny girl. She is a handful, but she is a keeper. We love her so much! We are constantly laughing at her.

Things she loves: Reading books, she loves to bring them to you. Saying hi, this is my favorite and hers. Walking, finally gave up crawling. Going up and down the stairs. Dancing, and she is good! Bananas, she loves her bananas. Swimming, she is a fish, sad summer is over. She is fearless, she is our dare devil. Loves her Baby Einstein videos. Loves to play with the camera. I can't take pictures without her reaching for it. Love her finger puppets. I know I am forgetting stuff, but I need to go get Scotlyn out of her time out. Here are some pictures. We don't let her stand on the table, but it had been 3 days of fever and crying and she was happy.

Utah Trip!

Friday July 10th we headed up to Riverton Utah where my family lives. Scotlyn was great the car ride up.

When we got there Scotlyn showed off her dancing moves. It was just as funny watching everyone else dancing. Crista got a great video of Scotlyn dancing. I will have to post it later.
Saturday morning we got up and headed to Marks Family in Holladay. We ate at a yummy neighborhood breakfast. Sara took Scotlyn out back to the play set, Scotlyn loved the slide. Of course we had to have a Mario cart tournament, a Bradley family Tradition. That evening we had a Neighborhood BBQ. It was so good to visit with the Bradleys.

Sunday was a busy day. We headed down to Orem for Mark's Aunt Tammy and uncle Matt's Homecoming at 9:00. Matt was missionary President in Paraguay. Afterwards we went to Matt and Katies, it was good to visit with all the cousins. Meanwhile my Parents went to my brother Lance's Mission Presidents homeecoming at 11:00 in Pleasant Grove. After that they got us and we headed to Wyoming for my cousin Chad's Homecoming. Luckily they do Sacrament last so we were able to barely make it. Sunday was long , but good.
Monday we went to a Lake in Daybreak where my grandparents live and went Kayaking. Lots of fun. Scotlyn loved playing in the sand. Afterwards we went to Grandpa and Grandma's house for a BBQ and homemade icecream, mmmm. And of course games, we played mexican train.

Tuesday we went to the open house for the Oquirrh Temple. It was very beautiful. I loved all the paintings. It was such a great experience. I love Temples!
Wednesday we ran errands. We went to Young living for some good oils. After Young Living we went shopping for Lance, he was overdue for a package. It is amazing what you can shove into those envelopes. We are so proud of Lance. He is such a great Missionary. He is serving in the Mexico City Mission and has had all native companions.
Thursday we went to IKEA. I love that store. Then we were on a mission to find Lynzie a tennis racket. We looked at DI and a pawn shop. We were successful! We found a nice one at the pawn shop for 15 bucks and we found a really old wooden one at DI for 3 bucks. After our mission was completed we headed to my grandparents for a grueling game of Dominoes. Grandpa bought a 15 dot game. It was a 5 1/2 hour game. We didn't finish till 1: 30 in the morning.
Friday my dad put a swing up he got at DI in the front room. Scotlyn loved it she got mad when you tried to take her out. I didn't get a very good picture. She looks scared!

Friday we headed to Santaquin where Mark's sister and mom live. We had another BBQ and played canasta.

We got home Saturday night. It was a great trip! It is great to be home!
I can't forget about Baby Coopers Baby Blessing in Cedar on Sunday. It was great to go up with my brother and seee cousins we haven't seen in a while. Sorry for the long post.

Scotlyn had her 1st Birthday on June 7th . We had a family party at the park on Saturday. We had Strawberry Shortcake, I was hoping that she would dive into the whipcream, but she never did. We love our little girl so much! Scotlyn loves dancing, she's got more rhythm than her mom, she gives high fives, she loves Baby Einstien, she is not quite walking yet, but she will before we know it. Happy Birthday Scotlyn, we love you!

We had a silly string fight and a water balloon fight. There is always a fight when my family is involved. Scotlyn doesn't like it when she thinks someone is getting hurt.

I love this picture! Crista just got a new hair cut and she looks like she is trying to be all sexy and let it blow in the wind. It was windy.

Memorial Day Fun!

I love Memorial Day, I love Desert Chorale's annual Memorial Day concert, I love the long weekend with Mark home and I love when family comes to visit. Memorial day gets me in the mood for Summer. This Memorial Day started Friday making cinnamon rolls for company that was coming, actually that was just an excuse for me to make them, Liz and I have been wanting to make them since last enrichment when they taught us how. Not to brag, but Liz and I made some dang good cinnamon rolls. Then that night we had our Chorale concert. I love singing Patriotic songs. My sisters Crista, Larissa and a friend Lindsey came to town and we had an awesome girls weekend. I love hanging out with my sisters. Saturday we shopped and just hung out. Mark was handy man for a day and fixed the garbage disposal and a leaky faucet, he is such a good husband! Sunday Mark's Mom, Tim and Becca came to church and had lunch with us. We get a lot more visitors since Scotlyn arrived. Of course, it wouldn't be Memorial Day without some swimming.

Tomatoes are Taking Over!

This year I tried gardening again. Last year was a learing session in gardening. I learned a lot of what I did didn't work. I got my garden in early this year and it is doing well. It is still not perfect, but it is growing good. Still have things I will change next time, like giving tomatoes more space. My tomato plants took off this year and are taking over, the poor green peppers are surrounded. I can't wait till the tomatoes ripen and we can eat from our own garden. I love gardening it is so fun to watch everything grow!

Mother's Day Weekend

This Saturday Mark didn't have work or school, YAY!!! We were so glad to have him home. Mark had a work BBQ at Sunset Park so we went to that and then we fed the ducks. Mark got one of the ducks to eat out of his hand. Scotlyn got so excited when they would get close, then a little scared. I was mad I forgot my camera, at least I remembered the bread. It was fun just to walk around the park. I never realized how big Sunset Park is.
On Sunday Mark got up with Scotlyn and let me sleep in, best gift ever, then he made breakfast and lunch. Mark cracks me up whenever he gets me flowers they aren't the normal flowers like roses, or a spring bouquet. This time he got me sunflowers, I love it! it's always something different. He is such a great husband! I also got flowers delivered from my big brother, he is so sweet. He is going to make a great husband, he is always so thoughtful. He wouldn't want you to think that, but he is all heart under that big, ruff anf tuff exterior. To top off Mother's day my Mom sent me a very sweet card that got me all teary eyed. And, thanks to my sista's for all the Happy Mother's Day wishes.
There is nothing better than being a Mom. It has been a drastic change in my life, but is the best one. I couldn't ask for a better job. I love my family so much. I love my Mom and am thankful for her and the example she is to me.

First Trip to the Lake

Last Saturday we went to the Lake with Aunt Tiera and Jeromy and their 2 boys. It was fun to get out in the sun with family. I am not sure Scotlyn enjoyed the life jacket, can't blame her. It didn't stop her from an afternoon nap. She was so out I was afraid she wasn't breathing.

Mess Maker

It amazes me that something so cute and little can make such a mess of the house. My sweet little girl likes to empty shelves, cabinets, baskets anything you put stuff in. It cracks me up, I will pick up her last mess and then she is right behind me pulling it all out again.

Scotlyn has discovered the stairs and she is so proud of herself. She also has a new word that we love "yuka" it is so cute when she does it. Our baby is growing up so fast. She will turn 1 in less than 2 months, I can't believe it.

SLC Marathon

I ran my first Marathon on Saturday. I had so much fun, it is such an adrenaline rush. My Mom and Scotlyn dropped me off at the Start line. Thanks Mom! She woke up at 5:00 made me breakfast then had a crazy time trying to get home, all while carrying Scotlyn. We rode the tracks to the Start. They took longer than we expected so I started 20 minutes late, but I liked it because I was passing lots of people so I felt pretty good. My time was 4:23:46. I had great support from my family. Mark, Scotlyn, Mom, sisters, Aunt, cousins and Marks family, Dad, Laurie, Mom, Tim, and sisters were all at the finish line cheering me on. Mark's Dad's house was at mile 10 so I saw them there, then they were at mile 18, 20, 23, then the Finish line. It was so great to have that cheering sqaud it gave me an added boost. I love my family and am so thankful for them . I am so glad I had the opportunity to run a marathon. Thanks to Mark for being supportive and watching Scotlyn on those long runs. Also thanks to Liz, Mandy and Jessi for being my running buddies and for watching Scotlyn when Mark had work.

Before and after the marathon. The dreaded porta potties and then dreaded ice bath.
SO COLD!!!

Start and Finish lines
Larissa got Scotlyn this cute dress and bows for Easter, I love them! My family is always spoiling her she has too many clothes as it is, but I love it. I love visiting my family they are awesome, I wish they hadn't moved away, but it is always fun to visit. This time was just too short.
